The Finnish saxophonist Eero Koivistoinen first visited the Faroe Islands in 1979 and was already at that time a well-known name in Finnish jazz. During that trip, he shared his talents as a saxophonist, composer, and bandleader, and in addition to performing his own concerts, he also offered teaching and guidance to Faroese musicians. At the time, it was an important part of Tórshavn Jazz Club’s mission to use the knowledge and inspiration of visiting musicians to improve and broaden the level of Faroese jazz musicians.
Eero has since returned several times and has become one of the foremost representatives of Finnish jazz. Throughout the years, up to the present day, he has remained eager to create new music, explore new directions, and be an active figure on the Finnish music scene. In addition to having performed on numerous Finnish jazz recordings, he has released 28 albums under his own name.
He also appears on the album Jazz in the Faroe Islands III (1982) and the CD Lög by Edvard N. Debess (2003), who has also played with him in the Faroe Islands previously.
Now, Eero Koivistoinen returns once again and will perform with a Faroese quartet featuring Edvard N. Debess on double bass, Pauli R. Poulsen on guitar, and James P. Goodwin on drums.

Edvard Nyholm Debess – bass
Pauli Reinert Poulsen – guitar
