Nimbus Tópus
Nimbus Tópus er eitt nýtt navn í Føroyum, ja so nýtt at fyrsta vit hoyrdu frá teimum var í marts 2023. “Tour de Faroe”, mini tour hjá Nimbus Tópus, bestóð av seks konsertum runt í Føroyum uppá bert fýra dagar. Tað sipaði til, at føroyingarnir vildu hava meira, so tey valdu at melda seg til sement – har tey endaðu sum nummar tvey í ikki minni enn strammari kapping! Tónleikurin hjá Nimbus Tópus er genrebending popput soul við einum dismi av jazz harmonium, lekkrum funk licks og rap. Man skal tí hava øgiliga smalan tónleikasmak fyri ikki at føla fyri onkrum av tí tey spýta út.

Eftir konsertina verður “Gentugjamm” á Blábar. Hetta er aðruferð Gentugjamm verður á Vetrarjazzi, tí enn er tørvur á tiltøkum, ið menna og geva kvinniligum tónleikarum í føroyum dirvi at taka sítt pláss á palli, til gjamm. Gentugjamm er ÓKEYPIS og allar kvinnur og fem-identifiserandi persónar eru vælkomin á pall hetta kvøldið!Havnar Jazzfelag bjóðar vælkomin á føroyskum, men bólkarnir á Vetrarjazz velja hvat mál tey velja at tosa undir síni konsert.

Nimbus Tópus is a new addition in the Faroe Islands musical scene, so new that we first heard about them in March 2023. “Tour de Faroe,” a mini-tour by Nimbus Tópus, consisted of six concerts around the Faroe Islands in just four days. It seemed that the Faroese wanted more, so they decided to sign up for Sement, a music contest – where they ended up as number two in no less than a tight competition! The music of Nimbus Tópus is genre-bending pop-soul with a dash of jazz harmonium, smooth funk licks, and rap. One must have a remarkably narrow taste in music not to feel something for what they bring to the scene.

After the concert there will be a “Girls’ Jam Session” in Blábar. This will be the second year that Vetrarjazz includes the Girls’ Jam in the program and this is because the Jazz organisation still finds this necessary in the Faroese jazz music environment that has very few female musician representatives. It is therefore deemed very important with incentives like these that give female/fem-identifying musicians the courage to step onto the stage and own their place there.
